Mid-Level Designer / Video

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who loves design and has a natural bend toward video/motion graphics. The person who will fit this role will understand the fundamental elements of design and enjoys bringing projects to life to create amazing branding and marketing solutions. From storyboarding a brand reveal or commercial, to creating animated gifs for social, this role will be involved in brand identity projects, advertising campaigns and web projects. They must have a keen understanding of how storytelling and design can be enhanced through motion and video and how to see beyond the blank canvas to create these visual stories.

This position will work on both design for print and web, plus video projects. If you can equally live in Photoshop and Premiere, have a hunger to create and have the confidence to deliver your ideas, we’ve got a chair for you.

Summary of Position:

We’re seeking a Mid-Level Designer / Video with 3–5 years of experience and a knack for illustration. You would be responsible for executing design projects from concept through final production and implementation. The Mid-Level Designer / Video will work on the visual and some written aspects of advertising, websites and branding. The Mid-Level Designer / Video manages and develops concepts and creative designs to present to clients. Projects may utilize or be presented in the final format of print, video, web and/or photography.

  • Concepting, storyboarding, editing and animating video and design projects.
  • Work as a team with fellow designers, developers, clients, and vendors
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through completion
  • Develop concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand strategy
  • Establish creative direction for the entire line of online services and programs
  • Generate multiple concepts for a campaign or project
  • Work with the account team, strategy team, and copywriters to develop concepts
  • Work with internal teams to generate ideas for pitching and proposals
  • Recommend and implement ways to increase productivity, professionalism and service within the office.
  • Assist with organization of job files, artwork and photography.
  • Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent visual design and management experience required; or at least 3 years experience as a designer
  • In-depth knowledge of design tools in the Adobe Suite
Working, including Premiere and After Effects. Knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
  • Editing and Animation experience is a must. Familiarity with camera work is a plus.
  • Have clean modern design principles, based on a knowledge of layout, graphic fundamentals, refined typography & the limitations of print & web
  • Production skills for both print and online are necessary.
  • A strong working knowledge of motion, story development, and video process
  • Print, web and video design capabilities: must know how to work in multiple media for integrated campaigns
  • Be detail oriented in all aspects of a job
  • Have a good command of writing and grammar
  • Creativity and strong conceptual problem solving a must
  • Ability to storyboard or translate ideas provided
  • Ability to generate, share and follow-through on creative ideas.
  • Ability to work well with other staff, vendors and clients in a collaborative and professional environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
  • Ability to utilize all hardware, software and peripheral elements of a desktop computer workstation for a minimum of eight (8) hours, daily, for five (5) days in a row (a standard workweek).
  • Ability to develop professionally with regards to being aware and learning new design software, understanding industry trends, etc.
  • Ability to use a telephone multiple times throughout a workday to verbally communicate with clients.
  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
  • Ability to travel to local vendors and/or clients for meetings.
