At the tail end of Women’s History Month, we felt it was fitting to celebrate the many women who make up the team at Ardent. Whether it’s account service, strategy, design, social media, coordination, or writing, one thing’s certain: these women make Ardent stronger, smarter and more dynamic every day.
We sat down with them—well, virtually—to hear their thoughts on marketing, how they got their start and the advice they’d give to young women looking to break into the field.
Without further ado, meet the mighty team—the incredible women of Ardent who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring your projects to life.

What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing?
Since I am not artistic I never thought that I would have the skills to work in an industry like marketing or design, but don’t underestimate the need for an organized brain in a group of creatives.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to women looking to break into the industry?
Creativity can take many forms, you don’t always have to be artistic to work in a creative field.
Who is a woman—past or present—who inspires you?
My feisty and intelligent mother, who always let me make my own decisions and mistakes. She was good at sitting back when I wanted to be independent and there for me when I asked for help.
What’s your favorite part about working at Ardent?
I found a creative company with values that align with mine, a company that I believe in with a wonderful team that lifts each other up.

What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing?
I have always enjoyed working in creative spaces, helping people, and problem-solving. When I shifted my career into marketing it just made sense to me. I get to work with many types of people, from various industries, and things stay interesting!
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to women looking to break into the industry?
My advice to women looking to break into the industry is to be confident in what you have to offer while continuing to learn an ever-changing industry. Truly, the sky’s the limit, and with technology and culture changing daily, you can open doors that didn’t even exist a decade ago. Find people you can collaborate with and learn from, and keep going!
Who is a woman—past or present—who inspires you?
The first woman who comes to mind is a former boss, Alice. She was an incredibly hard worker and as a manager was always looking for ways to guide and teach while maintaining great professionalism. She taught me so much about engaging fully in work, and in personal life. At the time my teammates and I were very young professionals, and Alice was always pushing us to keep discovering what we wanted in life and move toward it. She treated everyone with kindness and respect, and balanced things in an admirable way.

What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing?
As a kid, if I had a riveting book, I was lost for hours—just gone. I’m still that way. Reading good books is a great escape, and eventually, I realized that writing creates that same magic. But I never thought I’d actually make a career out of it. Well, in high school, I took an aptitude test that said my strengths lie in writing. It listed copywriting as a career possibility so I pursued that whole-heartedly even though I knew nothing about it. Advertising naturally attracts a pack of creative weirdos who see the world a little differently, and that’s where I found my niche.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to women looking to break into the industry?
It’s a weird time to be a writer in a world where AI is so prevalent. But I think if you have a real talent for writing and ideation—your head just swims with imagination—well, we need you! We still need gifted humans who take the time to really listen to clients—their needs, their fears and their wants—and who have the knack for nailing that story. Also, find a woman who’s years ahead of you in your industry who can mentor you along the way. Having multiple people to bounce ideas off was invaluable to me.
Who is a woman—past or present—who inspires you?
My mother was a small business owner with an amazing work ethic. I learned a lot about perseverance and great customer service by watching her. She never gave up!
What’s your favorite part about working at Ardent?
I love that we are all very different in our strengths and personalities but we pull together to create projects that stun the clients and get results. Our team is a crazy talented group who are also very kind. I’m honored to call them friends.

Anna Lossau
Art Director
What inspired you to pursue a career in marketing?
I have always been interested in art and have such a passion for anything creative. I was that kid that would walk around a craft store for hours and I could get excited about just about any project type. I just wanted to create something. Design was just such a clear career choice for me because it allowed me to create and solve problems all day long.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to women looking to break into the industry?
Be confident in your decisions and your role. Don’t always assume something is somebody else’s responsibility, see how it could be yours. The more you learn and take on makes you more and more invaluable.
Who is a woman—past or present—who inspires you?
My twin sister does. We are both working moms and watching her balance her demanding job and being there for her family really inspires me. Having a career is very fulfilling to me and it can be so challenging to try to do it all. I think women often feel pressured that they have to choose one over the other. So watching her balance it with such grace has helped me find ways to find balance as well.
What’s your favorite part about working at Ardent?
I love the people. I genuinely care about each person and they have become family to me. I love getting to solve problems and create together.
