Tommy is the newest addition to Ardent’s web development team. He’s a self-proclaimed computer enthusiast, musician, gamer, and Dungeon Master. He was born and raised in Fort Worth and spent the majority of his youth in Willow Park and Aledo before attending Dallas Baptist University. Tommy humored us by answering some questions about himself. You’ll enjoy the uniqueness of his answers to our little Q&A.
What do you do when you aren’t working?
I dislike being idle but often find myself void of energy after particularly taxing days. When I’m not recharging my batteries, I balance my time between home upkeep, playing video games with my fiancee, writing and composing music, social occasions, D&D campaign writing, and family ordeals. Mix in the lazy day of binge watching Game of Thrones or some other serial drama, and there you have it.
What is unique about you?
My wide array of interests and my dog I named Quigley.
What is your favorite movie quote?
I’m your huckleberry – Doc Holiday (Tombstone)
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
Well, I’ve been told I bear resemblance to Leonardo Di Caprio, but personally I would go with Cillian Murphy for his portrayal of Thomas Shelby, one of my favorite characters that I can relate to.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Breakfast buffet at the Pearl Resort in South Padre Island.
Least favorite food?
Not a fan of complicated salads, kale, or Asian dishes that aren’t Americanized.
Motto or personal mantra?
Everything is possible until it’s not, so don’t claim something cannot be done until you’ve tried everything at your disposal.
Never limit your potential, shoot far the stars and be content with what you have achieved at the end of your days.
Three words to best describe you?
Objective, resourceful, loyal.
What aspect of your role at Ardent do you enjoy the most?
Solving problems and growing as a developer. It’s an investment into my future.
What did you want to be when growing up?
CEO [Editor’s note: This answer adds weight to the previous answer, doesn’t it? He’s coming for you, Brad and David.)
What is an ability you wish you had?
If we are being realistic, I’d like the ability to inspire others. If we are dreaming… fire bending.
What music is on your playlist?
To highlight a few: Interpol, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and Tame Impala.
What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
A longstanding engagement with an accounting firm and trust attorney.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
What is your hidden talent?
Maybe if I had more talents I could afford to hide one. [Editor’s note: Obviously Tommy’s an incredibly talented guy. Either he’s humble or he just told us about all his talents.]
