When Ardent began working with Gladney, they had just refreshed their color palette. Everything we created for Gladney needed to be designed so as to not be gender specific. Ardent would need to update the brand to something more current, something playful but not childish. Gladney would need multiple pieces, but as a non-profit organization, they were working within a strict budget.

Because of Gladney’s strict budget, the Ardent team performed detailed planning and research before starting the work. The subject matter Gladney is presenting as an adoption agency already appeals to women, so Ardent removed feminine script fonts and floral imagery, opting instead for more color-blocking, green and blue, and typographic layouts.

Ardent re-branded this annual Gladney fundraising event. The client wanted better attendance at the event. Despite being one of the oldest and most successful fundraising events for Gladney, the previous branding was a disconnect. They wanted something more related to the location of the event, which takes place at Six Flags. We created the logo, flyers, announcements, and application forms to promote what would become their most successful year for the fundraiser.

Gladney wanted the Ardent team to create a print piece that would serve as a reminder to recipients of what their donations do. We designed an accordian-fold booklet to tell the stories of adoptive parents, birth mothers, and adopted babies.


desktop backgrounds.

When print calendars died, Gladney needed another, more personal touchpoint to give donors, employees, and families. Ardent designed inspirational desktop backgrounds to show the Gladney culture and make them top of mind with clients and donors. The campaign was so successful that the designs were eventually printed as posters, framed, and hung throughout the facility.

Gladney had a plethora of information to share in their annual report and brochure. Ardent’s challenge was to find a way to present all of the information within a relatively small space. We recommended that the client cut the amount of text and simplify how they communicate. The client willingly complied, and Ardent designed icons to help make visualization easier.

gladney cup itineraries.

Gladney came to us asking for us to create the itineraries for their annual golf tournament – The Gladney Cup. These itineraries would be in the hotel rooms when the guest arrived as a way to inform the guests on the schedule for the week. The pages are sized where each one is a little larger than the next so that they are easy accessible.


trailer wrap.

Gladney asked us to design a trailer wrap that embodied the Gladney spirit on this mobile billboard. We utilized their colors and mission statement to show who Gladney is and in a way where it would be easily legible while the trailer was being pulled down the road.
